How to Install Azure Storage Explorer on Windows, Mac & Linux

This guide covers installing Azure Storage Explorer on all three supported platforms. Estimated time: 5 minutes.
System Requirements
- Windows: Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
- macOS: macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
- Linux: Ubuntu 20.04+, Debian 10+, or equivalent
Step 1: Download
Download Azure Storage Explorer from the official Microsoft page.
Select your operating system and download the installer.
Step 2: Install
Windows
- Run the downloaded
.exeinstaller - Accept the license agreement
- Choose installation directory (default is fine)
- Click Install
- Launch Azure Storage Explorer
macOS
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile - Drag Azure Storage Explorer to your Applications folder
- Launch from Applications
Linux
- Extract the downloaded
.tar.gzarchive - Run
./StorageExplorerfrom the extracted directory - Optionally create a desktop shortcut
Step 3: First Run
On first launch:
- Sign in with your Azure account (or skip to connect manually later)
- The app will load your subscriptions and storage accounts
- Expand the tree view to see your storage resources
